Hailuo AI Drops Consistent Character (Subject Reference) Feature
🎉 Big News from Hailuo AI: Subject Reference Feature Is Finally Here! 🎉

Hailuo AI just launched its long-awaited Subject Reference feature—and it’s about time. Kling, Pika, and Pollo AI (via Vidu tech) got there first, but now Hailuo has joined the club. And being able to keep characters consistent with just one image is awesome. Kling currently requires a model training for that, which takes some effort and several videos of different angles, while Hailuo sees to be able to grasp the needed biometrics from just one quality image.
Here’s the deal. With this new tool, you can create frame-by-frame, character-consistent videos using just one reference image.
How to Use Hailuo AI Subject Reference
- Upload: Add a single image of your character.
- Prompt: Write out what you want your video to look like.
- Create: Hit the button and let Hailuo do its thing.
This makes it simpler than ever to create videos that stick to your vision.
And of course I am trying this feature as I write. Have resubscribed just for this opportunity.
The cost of the character reference video is higher - 45 credits vs 30 for the usual ones.
So the output is a video in 1280x720 resolution with 25 fps. For me it took 4 minutes to complete. And the result is pretty amazing.

Girl with a pearl earring as a biker
Prompt: The girl is wearing a stylish bandana and a fashionable cool leather jacket, tight vintage distressed jeans and cowboy boots. She's seen sitting on her bike smoking a cigarette, behind her is a blurred out pub situated on a lonely road in the middle of nowhere.

Ok, so obviously... Hailuo AI’s new Subject Reference feature is about to get wild. Imagine snapping a selfie and turning yourself into an action hero, a sci-fi warrior, or even a glamorous Hollywood celeb.
This feature makes it easy to see yourself in places you’d never think possible—fighting aliens, rocking a red carpet, or, who knows, even starring in a zombie apocalypse. People are going to use it for the craziest, most unreal ideas ever—and honestly, we’re here for it.
What’s your dream role?
